Is West Palm Beach in the High Velocity Hurricane Zone?
No. The High Velocity Hurricane Zone is defined in the Florida Building Code (section 1620) by county and covers Miami-Dade and Broward only. West Palm Beach is in Palm Beach County, so its roofs are permitted under the statewide Florida Building Code as the city administers it. Roofing products still need a Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance.
