Repair
Forty-one percent of Boynton Beach homes were built before 1980, and some are on their second or third roof. We repair where repair is right and put the reason in writing.
Boynton Beach mixes older neighborhoods with newer ones: the median home was built in 1984, four in ten predate 1980 and about a quarter were built since 2000. Perkins Roofing repairs and replaces tile, metal, shingle and flat roofs on houses, townhouses, condominiums and commercial buildings here, filing permits through the city’s SagesGov system, from the Jupiter office.

Our work here
43 Perkins jobs documented in Boynton Beach since October 2022. See them on the project map.
Every job on the map is documented by our crews in CompanyCam and shown at city level only. We never publish a customer’s address.
The building stock
Census figures put Boynton Beach’s median year built at 1984. Forty-one percent of homes were built before 1980 and 24 percent in 2000 or later, so the city has houses on their second or third roof as well as communities still on their first. About four in ten homes are single-family detached, 13 percent are townhouses or other attached homes, and three in ten are in buildings of ten or more units.
What the city requires
All new permit applications in Boynton Beach have gone through SagesGov since May 2021, and submittals are digital only, as unprotected PDFs. Re-roofs on one- and two-family homes by a licensed roofing contractor are instant permits: issued automatically on payment and upload of the required documents. Apartments, condominiums and commercial buildings go through the commercial permit type.
Inspections are requested in SagesGov by 3 p.m. the day before; at 8 a.m. on the day the portal shows the inspector and time window. The approved documents must be printed from SagesGov and kept on site for the inspector.
Permitting authority
Checked against the city’s published information on September 22, 2026 (source). Perkins prepares and pulls the permit for every roof we install; requirements can change, so we confirm them for your address.

Want a rough number before anyone visits? The roof calculator measures your roof from satellite imagery and shows a rough South Florida price estimate by material. It is not a quote; your price comes from a measured inspection and a written proposal.

Questions
No. The High Velocity Hurricane Zone is defined in the Florida Building Code (section 1620) by county and covers Miami-Dade and Broward only. Boynton Beach is in Palm Beach County, so its roofs are permitted under the statewide Florida Building Code as the city administers it. Roofing products still need a Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance.
The City of Boynton Beach Building Department, on the first floor of City Hall, 100 E. Ocean Avenue (561-742-6000). Applications, plan review, inspections and close-out all run through the city’s SagesGov portal.
For one- and two-family homes, yes. The city issues re-roof permits to licensed roofing contractors automatically on payment and upload of the required documents. The documents still have to be right, because errors show up as failed inspections. Condominium, apartment and commercial roofs are not instant permits; they go through the commercial permit type.
Boynton Beach is in Palm Beach County, which Perkins serves from the Jupiter office, 561-559-7663. We do not have a separate Boynton Beach office.
