Repair
Royal Palm Beach is inland and only 16 percent of homes are older than 1980, so many roofs here are still the original. We repair where repair is right and put the reason in writing.
Royal Palm Beach is an inland village of houses and townhouses: eight in ten homes are single-family, detached or attached, and most were built in the 1980s or the 2000s, so many roofs are at their first replacement. Perkins Roofing repairs and replaces shingle, tile, metal and flat roofs here and files the village re-roof permit, from the Jupiter office.

Every job on the map is documented by our crews in CompanyCam and shown at city level only. We never publish a customer’s address.
The building stock
Royal Palm Beach was incorporated in 1959 and has about 40,000 residents. Census figures put the median year built at 1990: 34 percent of homes date from the 1980s and 30 percent from the 2000s, and only 16 percent are older than 1980. Sixty-five percent are single-family detached and another 16 percent are townhouses and other attached homes, so shared roofs on townhouse rows are common alongside houses.
The village is inland, west of West Palm Beach, so salt spray is less of a factor than on the coast. Its roofs are replaced to the statewide Florida Building Code, not the HVHZ provisions that apply in Broward and Miami-Dade.
What the village requires
Plans and applications go to the village through ProjectDox. For shingle, concrete tile and membrane re-roofs the village lists a contractor data sheet, a notice of commencement, a planning and zoning pre-check, a roof specifications sheet, product approvals and its re-roof affidavit; tile and membrane jobs add a moisture survey.
The re-roof nailing and inspection affidavit covers sheathing fastening to the product approvals, a ladder at least 3 feet above the roof line at each inspection, and removal of dumpsters and debris before final. On commercial and multifamily buildings, a change of roof material or color that departs from the existing architectural approval needs village architectural approval first.
Permitting authority
Checked against the city’s published information on September 25, 2026 (source). Perkins prepares and pulls the permit for every roof we install; requirements can change, so we confirm them for your address.
What we do here
Repair
Royal Palm Beach is inland and only 16 percent of homes are older than 1980, so many roofs here are still the original. We repair where repair is right and put the reason in writing.
Replacement
Shingle, concrete tile and membrane re-roofs are filed through ProjectDox with the village re-roof affidavit; tile and membrane jobs add a moisture survey.
Roof systems
Sixteen percent of homes are townhouses and other attached homes, so shared roofs on townhouse rows are common alongside houses. The village lists requirements for all three roof types.
Commercial
Low-slope and multifamily roofs, including phased replacement on occupied buildings.
Inspection
A written roof condition report for an insurer or a buyer: the roof section of a 4-point inspection or a roof certification.

Questions
No. The High Velocity Hurricane Zone is defined in the Florida Building Code (section 1620) by county and covers Miami-Dade and Broward only. Royal Palm Beach is in Palm Beach County, so its roofs are permitted under the statewide Florida Building Code as the city administers it. Roofing products still need a Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance.
The Village of Royal Palm Beach Building Division, part of Community Development, 1050 Royal Palm Beach Boulevard (561-790-5128). Applications and plans are submitted online through ProjectDox. Perkins prepares and pulls the permit for the roofs we install.
On commercial and multifamily buildings, yes: a change of roof material or color that is not consistent with the existing architectural approval needs village architectural approval. On houses and townhouses, check your HOA’s rules; bring them to the estimate and we will specify to them.
Royal Palm Beach is in Palm Beach County, which Perkins serves from the Jupiter office, 561-559-7663. We do not have a separate Royal Palm Beach office.
