Tim Kanak is the driving force behind Perkins Roofing’s continued growth and innovation.

Tim Kanak is the President and Owner of Perkins Roofing and leads the company’s continued growth across roofing, construction, consulting, education, and franchising. A licensed Florida roofing contractor, Tim joined Perkins in 2014 and became full owner and President in 2023, continuing the legacy of a South Florida roofing company originally founded in 1980.

Under Tim’s leadership, Perkins Roofing has expanded its work across South Florida, serving residential, commercial, luxury, high-rise, and government clients. His experience includes roof replacement, roof repairs, advanced roofing systems, building envelope solutions, and large-scale projects throughout Miami, Jupiter, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach, and surrounding areas.

A licensed Florida roofing contractor since 2018, Tim joined the company in 2014 and rose from Vice President to full owner and President in 2023. Under his leadership, the company – originally founded in 1980 – has expanded significantly while maintaining its reputation for quality workmanship and customer-focused service across South Florida.

With a roofing career dating back to 2013, Tim and his team have successfully installed and repaired thousands of roofs throughout the region – from the Florida Keys north to Fort Pierce and west to Naples and Fort Myers. He was one of the original Quantum 6 roofing contractors for Polyglass systems and remains deeply knowledgeable about advanced roofing technologies, as demonstrated through his educational YouTube content and in-depth video series on roofing systems, installation best practices, and Florida-specific challenges.

Tim holds certifications in numerous premium roofing products and has led projects of every scale and complexity:

  • High-rise beachfront installations requiring cranes and hydraulic hoists
  • Luxury roofing in exclusive communities such as Fisher Island
  • Celebrity homes
  • Large-scale commercial re-roofs (including Ford dealerships, warehouses, and airport hangars) with extended warranties

In 2023, Tim expanded operations with Perkins Roofing Jupiter, extending high-quality service to Palm Beach, Martin, and northern Broward counties. In 2024, he launched Perkins Construction, broadening the company’s capabilities to include major concrete restoration on high-rise buildings (Miami Beach to Jupiter), impact window and door installations, exterior painting, siding, HVAC, mechanical work, structural repairs, and true turnkey commercial projects.

Also in 2024, Tim established Perkins Franchising – completing the Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDD) and positioning the brand for national growth. He actively consults with other home-service business owners and provides expert guidance to building owners and property managers on designing optimal roofing and envelope solutions tailored to Florida’s climate (and beyond Perkins’ direct service areas).

Tim brings a well-rounded perspective to the industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Mizzou and a Master’s degree in Education from UCF. Before entering roofing, he worked in education, and he remains a real estate investor with an inactive Realtor license.

When not leading his growing team, Tim is a devoted family man who enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and their five children (plus two dogs and five cats). A self-described fitness enthusiast, he works out daily, loves baseball, and finds relaxation on the water paddleboarding.

His portfolio spans exclusive resort amenity enhancements, high-rise building envelope restoration and waterproofing, luxury single-family home renovations and new builds, and a wide range of commercial projects throughout South Florida.

Highly skilled in contract negotiations, project estimating, permitting, building codes, procurement, and full-cycle construction management, Roland excels at turning visions into reality – from pre-construction planning through final certificate of occupancy. He is known for developing strong partnerships with architects, engineers, local officials, vendors, and most importantly, his clients.

At the core of Roland’s philosophy is a simple truth: great buildings are built on great relationships. He leads by fostering collaboration and directing high-performing teams that consistently deliver quality workmanship and exceed expectations.

In 2023, Roland partnered with Tim Kanak and Marco Castillo to co-found Perkins Construction Company, expanding the Perkins family of companies. Today, he oversees roofing projects from start to finish, with a strong emphasis on clear communication, organization, attention to detail, and delivering consistent, high-quality results for every client. Charles is also OSHA-30 certified and serves as the company’s dedicated Safety Manager. He is deeply committed to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job site, drawing from his strong ethical foundation developed during his time at the police academy.
